Hi All - New to the forums and I am looking to see if there are any manufacturers of small boat wiring kits that include the box, panel, switches, wires, etc... I am looking for something snap together, pre-wired that comes in a variety of configurations. Specifically, my dream set up involves: dual battery with switch, at least three auxiliary switches and panel, 12v outlet, electric box with hinged door, pre-fused, proper wires, etc... EasyAcDc kit is too limited. I've been looking all over and I just feel there has to be something out there for the novice like me that just wants to get on the water and get to fishing! (In a cost effective if possible). I have an older Alumacraft 16' Lunker with 15 horse Evinrude outboard and a Minn Kota 55lb thrust trolling motor

Again, I'm a novice and first time poster, so please be gentle! Any/all direction, information, and advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Dan

Unfortunately no. Every boat is different even though the accessories are basically the same. But placement of dash instruments, batteries , etc is all different. I would suggest you hire a certified marine electrician to help you design a system and either install it or teach you to install it. In lieu of that learn how to do it yourself. See New Boatbuilders Home Page - Basic Electricity Page 13 - Wiring Your Boat

Boat 12V is pretty basic wiring, not like a an automobile where you need to worry about ACC and ignition powered devices, flashers, headlights ect... Check out the Blue Sea Systems ST blade fuse blocks ( Pretty cheap here at Iboats ). They are covered, have seperate busses and so, once you add a battery switch and figure out just a tiny bit of wiring to get power to the fuse box, all you do is run power to your accessories from the buss on the fuse block.

Thanks for your input Peter and Matt. Knock on wood, but I think I can handle re-wiring the system with all the information that is available out there. It's going to be a relatively basic set up, but I want it to look polished. In that vein, does anyone have a recommendation on where to obtain an inexpensive water resistant electrical box enclosure to house the rocker switch, fuse and 12 v. outlet panel?
