I found the other thread asking the same question...performed the sign in and was in my own little world, anyway, replacing a few things will start a proper thread.

My problem with the ignition started when i trailed my boat. stopped vehicle and starter was running with no key..was told it was my ignition switch, so installed a new one using their skematic and so helpful comments here.

All terminals are connected as followed;

Red to B terminal

Blacks to m (screw in boss)

Black/yellow to M (metal post)

Purples to A

White to "I" for ignition (old switch was hooked to "s") no "S"terminal on new switch

Hooked up battery and when i turned key to on position starter turned over. I did not turn key all the way to start mode.

Could it be back at the starter?

I figured it out i think..New switch has an "I". old one an "A". So on new switch purple acc. wires to the "I" (Ignition) and the white wire to the "s". My problem was I put the purple wires on a molding stamp "A" which actually was the choke and the white on the "I" which gave me the starter engaging as soon as I turned the key on!

Starts and runs, toggle choke is working to.

Now the list is down to

replacing coils
carb kits
control cables, which is my next issue!
