I have an Eagle Trifinder 2 with a portable bracket that submerses my transducer. I made the mistake of getting to shallow. After backing out of the shallow water the display unit started constantly blinking a 39.6 depth. After trying several settings and resettings the above constant, blinking display continues?????

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanx in advance

Re: Eagle Trifinder 2 question

Welcome to iboats.

The obvious thing is did you flip up or down the transducer, if that is at the wrong angle it will give a reading much deeper then you actually are.

If you have turned it off and unplugged it and it still does it you may have tweeked the cable and broken a wire which means you will have to replace it since there is no way to repair the wire.

Hit all the obvious stuff first, make sure everything is plugged in right, you have a good power source on it and the transducer is at the right angle and depth, if it still doesn't work it is broken or you need a new transducer.

Re: Eagle Trifinder 2 question

Thanks for the info, Captain. I have contacted Eagle who indicate that this mode is no longer manufactured and other transducers will not match my unit. Do you have any ideas where to obtain this outdated transducer?

Re: Eagle Trifinder 2 question

What do the plugs look like on your TriFinder 2, got a pic of the connectors? I have an old StrataView that I'm replacing (dead screen) and I think it uses the same transducer, not sure if the plugs are the same though. If I remember right, the power and ducer are a combo cable, with the speed wheel as a separate cable. If the ducer will work, it's yours, PM me. One thing, there is a cut on the ducer cable, I taped it up several years ago and never had a problem with it.

If not, try Ebay, I see NOS Eagle ducers all the time. Probably cost you $20-50. Oh yeah, this is an odd ducer as it has 3 elements in it.

Good luck.
