Hello there ladies and gents I have an E90ELEUC and was winterizing it by flooding the carbs with stabilized gas. During this process of starting the engine I heard a bang and then looked back and it’s almost as if the head of the starter blew through the plastic shroud on top. Is this an easy fix? Anyone know what part numbers I would require? There are two pictures below.

Thanks in advance

That cover has a bushing that supports the starter pinion shaft.----Was it ever lubricated ?----New flywheel cover is listed at $131 or so.

I never personally lubricated it in the 5 years I’ve owned the motor. Was not aware this had to be done. Thanks racer.

On the 2nd pic, looks like a spot for a roll pin or retainer hole. There should be one to stop the gear from moving past the stop.

Just an example of plastic parts failing with time.-----Should not be hard to find a used one.----But new might be a better option.----Then again a new one may have been made 15 years ago.----Doubt there is a roll pin needed to stop the pinion.
