OOOPS..Moderator, please move this post where it belongs.(nothing to do with boats).I messed-up.

This thing looks very scarey, but may get the job done. I'm a bit concerned over it's after-effects of living tissues tho.
Just the same, it's comforting to know such a device is in our arsenal.
If I can get this link to werk ...............
web page

I have always wondered, why not use this as a weapon against an ICBM. I would assume that most of the ICBMs use electronics as guidance systems. Instead of trying a direct hit with an explosive device, why not use one of these devices on a missile. So it disables all the elctronics for thousands of miles. It sure is better than having a Nuclear bomb explode. I know there could be electronic designs that would foil this by just getting the missile on a trjectory that did not need guidance and would explode due to the difference in air pressure.

Wow. Isn't that something... a 'people friendly' weapon.

In therory, they should. Old Gas engines should too. Any engine that was made before electronic ignition or uses any means other than electronic ignition.

It was found to be very ineffectual against camels, scorpions, cockroaches & sand......
So, back to the drawing board for a real plan for the war on Iraq :( Budgeting more money is a start, though.....We could start by hiring more cartoonists for starters & work from there ;) .... :) JK

The use of weapons by us or any other country as described would probably be like shooting oneself in the foot to extract an ingrown toenail :(

This news blurb has come and gone since the mid sixties.I remember my father deciding to keep his magneto ignition car a bit longer and mentioning a simular news story. At the time the idea was that the Russians would explode nuclear devices at the very edge of the atmosphere, knocking out all electronics. That way they would neutralize American technology and conquer Europe using low tech machinery.

Unfortunately, anything that we can use against the enemy, the enemy can use agains us, eventually. Think of the "children", without their text messaging and im's. ;)

Let's just hope they never try to use something like this against the US. We have more technology than anyone. That alone makes us vulnerable in one way or another.
