As anyone would know who has worked with aftermarket auto sound systems dynamat is a wonderful material used to muffle down panel ratel and increase the purity and crispness of sound with in the car it self. WHat I was wandering was if it is that good in keeping sound in does anyone think it would hold up to the marine environment to quite down an old Evinrude 65 hrs motor. I was going to tear out the old oxidized foam in the motor cover and line it thouroughly with dynamat anyone think this is a good or bad idea? Feedback would be great. Thanks! Rob:D

I had similar thoughts to sound proof my 40hp Evinrude. Just never got around to it. I don't see why it wouldn't work well.

Re: Dynamat and outboard motors.

I used Ice & grace shield from lowes to get the rattle out of my car stereo system, it's a product for roofs but is almost the same as Dynamat regular except less than half the price. I paid about $55 to do the trunk, doors and side panels. Still had alot left over when I was done. But once its on it does not come off and it goes around curves without a problem.

O and license plate too.
