shouldn't i have a solid voltage at the + side of the coil with key on? i dont, it pulses 1,3,7,9 volts only when cranking, when im not cranking its 0v with the key on at the coil + terminal

and also im confused if this is right, lou said
"Positive lead from the meter goes to the coil negative terminal and negative lead goes to battery neg or any engine ground. Make sure to ground the coil lead from the dist cap as well."
so is this the spark plug wire or the power lead? and can i just taker it out or must it be grounded and if yes which end do i remove and ground?

update: so i removed the white wire from the coil + terminal and gave it a solid 12v from the battery and she fired off  and no more pulsing voltage. But im confused on the wiring diagram it shows the coil having I terminal having 2 white wires, one from the ignition thats resisted and one from the alternator, mine only has one. also, any chance you have a diagram of the actual color codes that go to what post on the ign. switch? Im going to grab a new fuse panel and start cutting out non OE crasp wires then fix and redo any OE wires that are messed up, i want the OE wiring diagrams to match the actual boat! i think im gonna have them printed and laminated too :D
