Dull finish and fading...how to bring the shine back?

I have some scuff marks in my gel coat. Dummy me used a scrounge pad to remove some stubborn stains. I can see it ruined my gel coat shine. I was thinking of buying a buffer and seeing if I can buff it out. Would this work?

There are also areas of oxidation where it looks like the paint/gel coat is faded. The boat is white so its not that obvious. Any thoughts?

Here's what I did: I got a wool buffing pad for my drill. Got some Turtle wax polishing compound, applied it to the wool pad, and went over my whole hull with it. Shined it up like almost-new. Then, to protect that new shine, I used a product called 5 Star Shine. Look for it on eBay. It's kind of expensive, but it protects WAY better than wax. Good luck!

I used 3M's polishing compound on mine and it work great. Most with buffer the rest by hand.

Best bet: buffer with wool pads, 3M Super Duty Compound for any fading or oxidation,
3M Finesse-It to remove any swirls, wax of your choice (I prefer a product called Tech Shield) with a foam pad (egg crate like texture).
