duel to single throttle control

We are going to replace the helm console on a 84 Party Barge and want to change to single control, has a morse now. The question is how much trouble will this be, any insite will be great. Thanks in advance Ronnie

Even though the single lever control box has a single lever, it still requires two cables (one throttle, one shifter). So the issue is not whether it will work or is it a problem. It will work provided the existing cables will mate with the new control box. If not, new cables will be needed.

I guess that the best route would be to go with a morse single lever control, will be the closest match with the cables there now. Thaks for the help.

I have/had an older Morse single lever and don't like it... I switched back to a double line shifter for my old Johnson...
