Greetings!
New member, first post.

I bought a project boat, a Chris Craft Stinger 314 whose repairs required to splash her are nearly complete, Yahooo!
It’s got a pair of 2001 Mercury XL (I believe) 2 stroke 250 outboards.

Ive never owned a twin engine boat before and would imagine that being able to trim both engines simultaneously would be helpful. The independent switches on the throttle handles work, but are a tad awkward to hit both at the same time.

Does anyone have any idea how to wire a separate switch to either: 1) Allow either trim switch on the throttle handle to run both motors together, or 2) Have a separate 3 position (momentary, center off) switch which trims both motors together?

Thanks all!

Never really felt the need to have separate trim controls on twins.

My boat has a 3-5 degree running angle. I typically set a neutral trim and make minimal, if any corrections, throughout the day.

Any corrections to compensate for unbalanced loads, running angle, etc. are done using hydraulic trim tabs

Add and turn on S3.......Using S1 or S2 (throttle switches or trailer switches) trims both, same direction, same time.......Turn off S3 and they go back to normal/independent. Assumes 3 wire trim motors

You may find that the motors do not trim at the same rate. So you will need to do final trimming independently.
