dual I/o power trim and tilt master button

I need to figure out how to DIY wire the master trim button with diodes.
I have twin 3.0l mercs with I/o , bought a seastar/domestic standard remote control, specifically the chx8242p, came with 4 buttons not counting the master trim on the handle. I'm assuming the 2 extra per side are to individually control the trim and tilt. Also came with 3 little colored wire diode packs. Green, blue and red. Each with one colored wire sort of off to one side and to the other 4 colored wires.
The instructions that came with were to say the least, lacking.
So what do y'all think? Anybody got an idea how to do this?
I'm probably just looking at it backwards somehow. The way I always thought about it was that only the master trim button wires get a diode but the more I think about that it doesn't make sense for where you're pulling 12 volts from. Jeez I think I confused myself and for the life of me all I can find on internet are diagrams of old school dual setups with a big ole module

But then when you have 2 I/o and you have a master trim button to control them both. How is this accomplished while keeping the engine circuits separate?

Seastar remote controls do not have a purple white so that's one area I'm confused about

Exactly

Keep them separate

And read the gauges

One drive will always raise at a different rate than the other
