Hello, I have been to this forum many times for advice; this is my first post to see if anyone can lead me in a direction I have not been. I have been working on getting this engine performing properly. I have had so many little things and sometimes seem like once I get past one, I encounter another. Before this season, I changed the impeller, thermostat and oil flow sensor. I also went through the carburetors. At first, when I went over 4000 RPM, I would get an alarm...slow to 2500 RPM (safe mode), then when it was ready again it would go back up in RPM. It had plenty of water and oil and no temperature problem. After getting with the tech support at Brownspoint Marine, I think we have gotten past the alarm issues (water flow sensor on head). The next couple times out, RPM had dropped to 4100 or 4200 and pretty much stayed there with WOT, however, every now and then it would drop to 3200 or so for a bit and then back up to 4200 without moving the throttle handle. I continue to change the plugs and make sure that they are clean. I have since order some different carburetors in much better shape, cleaned them and put them on. Now it seems as if I can start the engine and get it to run and as soon as I put it in gear, it somehow stalls in seconds. If the bubble gets pumped, I can save it, so that keeps me believing it is not flooding out. Also when I do get it in gear, if I can get to about 2000 RPM, it will do fine and it will also go 4000 WOT without stalling. A little more information....I have a new tank, inline filter, fuel lines all the way to the carburetors and bulb. I currently have the fuel pump off and the bladder seems fine, but I will rebuild since having it apart. I did notice some black carbon build up on the back of the fuel bladder. I have read some things about checking the plug gap, which might cause the stalling at low RPM. I have read some things about the throttle control sensor needing adjusting (I am not sure but if that is the sensor on the middle carburetor then mine is called a Throttle valve sensor Assembly and I am not sure of any adjustments on it). Any and all suggestions that would help lead me to a solution to getting it to run at low RPM with no issues, then I can see about why I cannot get above the 4000 RPM mark anymore. Maybe it is all in the fuel pump....i do not know...that is why I need you guys. Heck y?all may have the answer to both of my issues. FYI, this has been a reliable engine....touchy but reliable. If for some reason it does die out....cranks right back up...and I mean every time. Also, when I put the fuel pump back on, I will be adding a fuel water separator....
