drop in RPMs Merc 75, 2stroke, 3 cyl - resolved.

After installing the engine cover, RPMs for WOT drop to 2500. Removing the engine cover raises the RPMs at WOT to 4200. Any ideas? 1998 Merc 75 2 stroke 3 cyl.
Resolution: The sparkplug wire was getting rubbed by the cover when locking it. the wire was shorting out.

Seems the cover is pushing on something. Only thing I can think of is the routing of your plug wires. mike
