Driveshaft seal above or below impellor??

Is your driveshaft seal located above OR below your water impellor housing??? Going to change impellor and drive shaft seal out and cant locate it! Thanks

If it is what I am thinking it goes up top on the drive shaft. The little metal cup sits up and the rubber slides into it. You should see the seal is tapered to fit in the metal cup.

possible the seal & cuppling is stuck to the spline up inside the leg. they sit on top of the drive shaft - cuppling first then seal on top.

Drive shaft seal for the lower unit is located under the waterpump housing. Jerry
