This topic may have been beaten to death but I thought I'd remark on a paint that gave excellent results. I used black VHT enamel on my Mercruiser Alpha 1 Gen 2. It came out fabulous.
I prepped by washing it with precleaner twice, Sanded with 400 grit to level things. Washed again with the Rustoleum pre cleaner (black cylindrical container). Painted at 70 degrees with low humidity. Then went back 90 minutes later and repainted.
Next morning it was 45 degrees out there but the paint was smooth, shiny and hard. Thumbs up.
