Drip tray under generator

G'Day,

I am looking at replacing the drip tray under my generator.
The original was partially eaten by corrosion as a result of a failed raw water pump spraying salt water throughout my engine bay. Is there any reason not to replace it with a plastic or fibreglass tray?

As long as there is not any excessive heat involved I would think you would be O.K. Just make sure that whatever material is used is resistant to any and all fluids that could come in contact with it.
My thoughts

My Kohler's base plate is a piece of 1/2" black plastic.
You won't have any issues with a plastic drip tray.
