I have a ~ 1970ish. Owichita jon boat. The transom should have been replace 20 years go. I pulled the remains of the transom out with no issue. But, there is a brace which is riveted to the bottom of the boat. First thought was to drill out the rivets. But, then I figure I run the chance of leaks with whatever I replace the rivets with. How do I get a new transom in there without pulling out that brace. I can take pics tomorrow and post.

Thanks. Cool site. Very informative.

Welcome,

Most of the tinny's we've seen, the transom slides down between, and the brace can stay put. But maybe your is different, pics would definitely help.
