I am trying to drain the gas tank, Ive got a hose on the barb routed out the drain plug hole. I put one of those hand pumps on it, the kind you change the engine oil with.
I got about a gallon out of there...it never flowed really well...I thought it would act like a siphon, once I got it going just pull the hose off and let it fill the can on the ground but it just petered out.
It seemed to develop a vacuum also, especially towards the end, I pumped and pumped, and it held a huge vacuum on the drain hose but no gas. (The tank is vented so why the vacuum?!?)
I have never used the main tank except once after putting 5 gallons in it and it ran badly. I think it has at least 4 gallons left in there.
How do I get it out?
I wonder if the pickup is clogged hard with some goo!
Thanks for any ideas!
Ron
