Re: Drain Plug Key?

whether you are an idiot or not (joking here) concerns me less than the fact that I still don't see a pic LOL....
If the plug is in normal usable condition and you are trailering and boatinng in fresh water then use it.... If it is broken, highly corroded, or plastic, replace it

The orange plastic plugs at wally world btw are great to have around but they are not really for daily use but rather as an emergency plug

As cheap as plugs are buy a couple spares. one for boat, one for the glovebox, and one in the tacle box in case of the "I forgot the plug" emergency

OK! OK!

I just had it in my head as something different. It's really big though. You can fit a 1/4" extention all the way in the center and it doesn't touch the "points" on the +

You have to really press it in tight.

So no mushrooms on the boat, or in me. The guy I bought it from gave me one of the plastic plugs on the key ring for emergencies. I think I'm ok with this one as I'm always fresh water. I just have to find somehting to fit it, and keep that on the boat. The extension is doesn't allow enough torque to tighten it correctly.

get a garboard plug as pictured above so you won't have to worry about the right tool. Then get a cheap crescent wrench, set it to the right size, and keep it in the boat for this task only. let it rust in place so it will always fit.
Well that's my story (about my rusted crescent wrench) and I'm sticking to it.
