Re: DP290A removal of hinge Pins??????
A bit late on this........ but for others and for future...... there is no reason to remove the entire drive for an engine replacement.
Separate the engine from the Flywheel Cover, and leave the F/C installed in the transom shield.
The PDS bearings and seals can be replaced while the F/C remains in place.
you need to use one of the bolts, put it into the jacking screw hole (I believe top at 12 oclock) and remove the clamp ring.
under there you will find a large o-ring - there is the same o-ring on the motor side of the transom shield.
that seal is the outer o-ring. there is an inner o-ring as well. .................
you have PDS bearings, not a gimbal bearing. similar in nature, different in terminology.
If you do use the "jack threads".... be sure to use all three... and be sure to blast them out and lubricate the threads.
The water seal is actually provided by the inner rubber cushion. ... the outer rubber cushion is simply the other half of the rear engine isolation.
A fixed geometry AQ main suspension fork/pivot tube system is considerably different from a Gimbal suspension system.
And again.... a bit late on this.... but for future........ take a quick look at this before building a Marine SBC.

Since the F/C was removed with the engine, and will be going back in with the engine, you'll need to perform the 1-time-triangulation-procedure for the initial engine alignment.
