Those guys need to find something to do before somebody gets hurt! When the E-Tech guy saw the other boat swamping why didn't he let up on the throttle? They're all nuts!

pretty sure that was intentionally staged... advertising. With that type of 'competition', its all about the prop. You could have half the horsepower and still easily pull the other boat.

4 stroke v 2 stroke is more like the competition and everyone knows 2's are better out of the hole i vote that experiment by science sucks to many variables (2 stroke v 4 stroke, prop pitch, engine height, and more than likely foot gearing) and if they really wanted to get rid of a yamaha pick me

:facepalm:I agree,just slack water outback at go time!looks like yama started way late. that would be a DQ!they should do that w a long stretchy bungiecord w a flag on it like tug of war.that would be fun to watch!!!they do say "recomended" props wonder which ones lower pitched?the boat did not have to be sunk. All an expensive stunt.and you know somebody, somewhere got a "great deal" on that boat!!!,"only used one time,Clean inside and out"!Oh i just read "foot gearing"....big time.

Been around for a while that one. Anything can be staged and Evinrude are not in the business of selling Mercury products. Who knows for sure ???

I'm not pulling against anyone....true marketing hype there. My engine needs enough power to push and plane my boat and as long as it does that....all is good.

the reason the Yam prop isn't spinning is because the engine was drowned by then. But it seems like whichever boat first got the forward momentum would win. Let's do best 2 out of 3. Got any more boats and motors?

Shows that the stern eyes are right good for towing, though.

That is such crap, it is at least 3 seconds till the Yamaha guy even gives it any throttle and there is NO WAY he is at full throttle, the water behind the Yammy boat hardly moves.

I understand what they are trying to prove and it may even be true but the way they did it is rediculous, it is so obvously one sided ti doesn't matter, I would like to see that done fairly, could be interesting.

Sorry to double post I want to forward this to mythbusters...at the end mabey they can blow up both bayliners and I can feel better(owned a used bayliner for 1 year until I could find a real boat)

only mean my bayliner sucked...so no need to get pissy bayliner owners...

I think it was rigged.timeing is everything here,and the rope needs to be longer.If one boat starts first the other is in disturbed water from the other boats thrust.How bout a rematch or real contest w a longer rope and controlled simultanious throttle?But what would that prove? 2 and 4 strokes are different animals and both have good and bad!I think their like ANY engine.Some are very good and some not so much,and some can be made magic!I think w outboards or any boat motor,dependabilty/longevity,efficiency/cost to run to run are more important.Who cares if you get on plane 1 second faster but you motor breaks down or cost alot to feed?Unless your tournament fishing. Im not made of money!Ive never raced to a fishing spot.Its always there when I get there!Yamaha 4stroke owner.
