Anyone heard our friend Rush address his line on this domestic spying. As he fights invasion of his drug addictions, I would think he must oppose the governments domestic program.

Ah the politics of personal destruction, the hallmark of liberalism.

How exactly is a politically appointed judge more qualified to ascertian the value of a wire tap than the intellegence agencies?

Support your local liberal with a gag....

i dont really care what they did right after 9/11 and it does not bother me that much now.

BUT its my under standing that the secert wire tap judges have only ever turned down 44 out of 20 or 30 thousand requests.

so i dont realy understand the reason not to keep useing them ?

tommays

My understanding is that they (judges) modified hundreds of warrants rendering them useless but technically approved.

Time. That's why they can't wait for warrants.

But that is immaterial. NSA is chartered by Congress to monitor international communications traffic. The only change has been that those international communications may now include those originating or terminating in the US by persons suspected of terrorist connections.

The notion that we are all being spied on is left wing hysteria.

Now we have given up search and seizure limits under our constitution, anyone for giving up our weapons??? Just another constitutional right we have. Heck if the terrorist had no guns we could kick their butts.

This is one of those ideals where I become a strong member of the Reich wing. Do not mess with my guns..

For practice, the spooks have been tailing non-smokers for insurance companys. With the cold temps., several have been turned in for "exhaling" what appears to be smoke. I hope the real bad apples are prevented from doing any damage.

Wrong again JB, the spying includes domestic communications not just international.

Nice rhetoric, name one person (other than Rush Limbaugh (liberal judge and not utilizing this program, just a political hachet job brought about by judges and lawyers) whose rights were violated by this program?

I dont think so JB. Hysteria yes. I have been around some nut cases in my life. Its not a left or right thing. I know lots of wierdos that think the eyes in the sky are watching them Or thier phone is tapped. I always want to know what makes them think they are so important.

I wonder what makes them feel so vulnerable.

Ever notice how people driving the speed limit jump on their brakes when they see a radar car?

I agree that there are claims about domestic communications, txs. I hear no evidence about who did it or why. Until someone drops the gossip and makes a case I will still consider that wishful thinking.

It's not hysteria JB. It is just another attemp, by the liberal leadership, at keeping GW from succeeding in his primary duty. It's only the half listening rank in file democrat that takes up the beat of the drum, taking the leadership at it's word for the motives of GW et al.

Funny you should mention that JB. I was a cop for 9 years, will probably be one again soon. Even when I was in a marked patrol car on duty if I seen a cop car I hit the brakes. Looks like I'm a little paranoid ay?

Re: Domestic Spying

The fact is that the president ordered wiretaps while ignoring the law of the land. It seems that he thinks that he is above the law.National security has always been a blanket under which many corrupt acts can be hidden.
Like in so many other cases, the initial reasons may be lofty, very soon afterwards they become less so and before you know it, illegal wiretaps are used all over the place. All under the excuse of national security. We've been through this with Nixon and Agnew who came to the point of using these methods to spy on their political competition with the intent to defraud the nation of an honest election.
Is there any reason why this may not happen again?Politicians have not changed one bit.
Besides, if the president is allowed to pee on the laws then I as a fellow citizen should have exactly the same rights and you can see where that may lead.
Txswinner,I am the son of a survivor of the camps.Your use of the word Reich in order to compare rightwingers on this board to the germans of 60 years ago is disgusting.I agree that some of the rightwingers here are sometimes a bit extreme, but not once have I heard a racist remark and not once have I felt in any way threatened. You may disagree with their politics, but to imply that they are potential mass murderers and concentration camp builders is a huge undeserved insult.I think an apology is in order.
