Doesn’t go straight, left to right back and forth at idle?

So when I’m cruising around the canals at /no wake speed. The boat seems to hunt left to right constantly with no input at the steering. It more or less goes straight, but it’s like back-and-forth back-and-forth back-and-forth. I uploaded a video, but it is not quite as apparent with just me on the boat when I have a few people on the boat it does it more noticeably.. I’m sure one of you will know right away what the cause is, is there any solution to lessen it or stop it?

Ayuh,..... It's what boats do,... commonly known as V-hull wander,.....

Nothing to fix, just learn to live with it,....

Very small steering inputs can help in tight spots,....

What Bondo said . All of them do that, till I learned to just hold the wheel straight I was oversteering a lot. They will stay relatively on corse with little input from you.

Only sterndrive boats do this wandering. Without a True RUDDER behind the prop ? Add in all that bubble filed exhaust ? I am surprised the boats do as well as they do. I never bother to try keeping the boat straighter. Passengers never notice or complain. :)

Alrighty good to know. Yeah I use to try to over come it with constant inputs, but eventually they realize that it does kind of go in a direct path.

🍻Thanks

So would dragging a small anchor from the stern.
Or a larger fin on the housing.
Cost too much money to have the boat go straight.

A double prop does it less than a single prop because of the counter rotating props. Your passengers make it worse because the extra weight makes the V hull dig in deeper. Moving people/ weight to the back may help. You can try the tabs as sugested ir maybe raise the trim but really it's just the way it is.
