Well,..... For 6 months out of the year anyway,.......<br /><br />Diesel Fuel sprayed All over Me,+ Everything around Me,..........<br /><br />Hot Asphalt,.........<br /><br />And,..... For the Noise factor,......<br /><br />Screaming Diesel Engines,........<br /><br />I'm a Paver Operator,.... Blacktopper........

Odor?.....not much can top the smell of burnt gear lube. Just permiates the air. Have had to open doors in the winter to get rid of the smell.<br /><br />Noise.....I don't mind....ain't nothin' like the sound of a finely tuned JohnnyRude......

It might. The reason I ask if you had stopped smoking. After I quit I notice a marked increase in my ******** (that is smell isn't it) sense of smell. I didn't know you were out of work. This too could contribute to your intolerance. Hope you find something soon (that doesn't stink).

Only had one annoyance in my life time of work and that was a worker insisted playing hard rock music as loud as the volume could go!!! Told him once to turn it down, had to go and pick up some building materials and when I returned, he had turned up the volume once again!!!<br /><br />He never raised the volume ever again,"I smashed his radio with a hammer" and we worked peacefully ever after!!!

I'm in a cube farm and the guy that sits next to me takes a swim in his colgne every mornin, cheap crap too!!! Then around 2:30 every day he eats a sack of that extra butter popcorn that smell just like a pair of feet that just ran 14 miles in a pair of 4 year old Beta Bullet tennis shoes that have been wet with stagnant mud puddle water 40 times. AND, if thats not bad enough the gal that sits on the other side of me is all the time sprayin some sort of air freshener, crunchin ice, snaps, cracks pops her gum and blowin and moaning for what ever reason.......yeah my job stinks!!!!!

body oder from packing 500 men into a building with out ac in the sumer and bad breath I have came to one of two conclusions either gold in your mouth makes your breath stink or people with gold teath dont brush because every inmate with gold teath has bad breath. Noise? not on my shift. Other anoinces new staff doing dumb things that could get them or someone else hurt. Training rookies is always entertaining.

If you quit smoking, people you work with will have one less bad odor to complain about.

Hey, it's not MY asphalt! I never can pass up an opportunity to say that. <br /><br />Ladyfish, you may have coined a new term "faltulence" (you know I never complain about spelling, that one just caught my eye.) I work for the dept. of juvenile justice and work at night. We have 40 youths in a large dorn setting. you have B.O. & the passing of gas all night. It smells like a chicken coop. Stinks bad, can not wait to get out in the morning.

You guys don't know what stink is! I worked for a time on a paper mill sludge press. This is a machine that removes the solids from all the paper mill waste that is sent to the sludge pit. It consists of rotting paper pulp and many chemicals. This sludge is pumped into the machine and it presses the water out and makes cold damp 4'x4' sheets of sludge. The smell is so bad it turns the change in your pocket brown in a couple of hours and after you take a shower you can still smell it in your skin. Another place in a paper mill that is even worse is in the pulp mill. This is where the wood chips are pumped full of chemicals and cooked in a huge digester to break down the fibers and turn the wood into usable pulp stock. After 3 days in that dept. I got steady nose bleeds and was told "you will get used to the smell and the nose bleeds will stop". Needless to say , I turned that job down.

Up here in Comm the only bad smell is when the afternoon guys don't empty the trash from their night food binges or sometimes when the Fire Dispatchers get to cooking. <br /><br />If I have to work the Court, some of the domicile challenged do get the eyes to running, especially when we have to wand them.

Years ago I was a Field Engineer for an instrument company whose instruments were used a lot in research.<br /><br />The monkey rooms at these facilities were the foulest odor I ever had to tolerate on the job.

ALL of these things are a problem in my office, of course I am the only one in it . . . <br /><br />Not work related, but have you ever smelled a teenager's Hockey Bag? How do you write the gag reflex? We wash this stuff, hang it on the fence, hope that UV may have some effect, but no, even Mother Nature cannot fix that. In the immortal words of Fat Bast@rd, "even stink would say that stinks".
