You are probably right, Charlie.

It still seems wrong to me. . .facilitating deadly dangerous addictions.

I agree that a pot user is not an addict and is not particularly dangerous, but crack users become mentally deranged. . .like psychotics. . .and often become deadly.

Stupid laws...

In Pennsylvania, it's illegal to SELL tobacco to minors, however, it's not illegal for them to buy, possess, or use it. So, a kid goes into the convenience store, buys a pack of cigarrettes, goes outside and lights up, and who gets in trouble? The shop owner.

Can't say I'm in favor of California's medical marijuana law. I just don't know enough to take a position one way or the other, although I'd tend to think it's not a good idea.

However, that article also quoted an FDA official saying they would go after whoever owned the vending machines.

But it's not a federal matter! That is, if the stuff was grown, processed, and sold in California, then the federal government has no jurisdiction whatsoever. We tend to forget the Constitution only permits the federal government to do 18 things -- everything else is reserved for the states only.

So if California wants to allow medical marijuana, whatever I think about it is irrelevant.
