Does this impeller housing look normal? Pix included

I have 1988 Force 85HP. I've ordered a new impeller & seals, just wondering if I should replace the impeller housing too because it looks really worn. See pic below (more attached):

Also, anyone know what this is (...it's never good when you have extra parts and unsure where they go, help!!):

i say replace it. i just did mine and it look shiney and new even after 2 years,
