does omc still make the 3 button shift switches?

i am looking for a 3 button shift switch for my 1972 60 hp selectric evinrude. i know they are all around on ebay, and i will use that if last resort, i am trying to restore this boat and motor to as like new if possible, maybe joereeves would know, if hee reads this. i just wanna know if they are still available NEW<br />thanks<br /><br />mike

Mike.... Locate the model number of that engine and get it to us. You want to be absolutely sure of what you have before purchasing parts.<br /><br />Evinrude/Johnson did not manufactuer a 60hp engine in 1972.<br /><br />The "Straight Electric" shift 3 buttom switch is OMC part number 279091 and would list for approximately $139.40... but it has been unavailable since 1997.<br /><br />The "Hydro Electric" shift 3 button switch is OMC part number 279458 and would list for approximately $141.15... but it has been unavailable since 1995.<br /><br />The two switches DO NOT interchange as the electrical applications are entirely different.<br /><br />Although both switches are unavailable, they can be found occasionally, for example I still have one new "Straight Electric" 3 button shift switch left in stock (279091) but unfortunately this is not the one you need.

im sorry, it is a 50 hp, i just like to call it that since nobody can really tell the diff... and yes i have the hydro electric

If Ebay is your last resort , don´t look here :) ,EBay item <br />1 item PART# 279458 , new .
