Yes, at IDLE, but at more than a few RPMs they run at 50:1.

youngboater - OMC changed the 100:1 recommendation to 50:1. If it ran like crap on anything richer, it's probably because it was damaged on 100:1...Originally posted by CalicoKid:
I think VRO systems run as lean as 100:1 at idle. But I could just as well be wrong.
hey, what are you doing here? get back on bitogOriginally posted by ZmOz:
God I hope not...

The ONLY time any 2 cycle engine should be run at 100:1 is with Amsoil 100:1 oil, and even then most people use at least 80:1. 100:1 on regular oil or even cheap synthetic is a guaranteed way to ruin a good engine.
I know I have posted this before, but for those that didnt see it, I ran the old 100:1 Amsoil fore two years at 80:1 in a 1975 Evenrude 85 HP on a 15' Ranger Bass Boat at WOT everywhere I went at 6,000 RPM without a hitch and never changed the plugs or decarbed once while I had it. The guy I sold it to went back to regular oil, and it was dead in 6 months.Originally posted by red10:
my dads friends run 100:1 amsoil and swear by it, I personally wouldn't do it
