I pull over when pratical (hey folks I drive big vehicles and sometimes can't but I do at least stop) for Funerals and Emergency vehicles. If stopped for a school bus the emergency vehicle will have to a. Make it around me or b. wait. I know many a bad driver of fire trucks and such and I will not move my vehicle one inch if kids are involved. Besides it also slows the e-vehicle down and makes them look for the kids as well. <br />A little more on funerals. I will remove my hat when passing or being passed by a procession or passing by one. Always police are present in front and behind the procession and usually it's 3 cars with them leapfrogging to take over blocking intersections while the others do thier thing.

I will ALWAYS, ALWAYS stop for schoolbuses.<br /><br /> I once was waiting for my daughter (then 6 years old) at the bus stop....the bus stoped and the sign went out...all of the lights were flashing....and I was watching her turn the corner on the curb side of the front of the bus when I saw....from the corner of my eye....an old chevy pickem up truck haulen a$$ in the wroung lane....Passen a school bus!<br /><br />I yelled for my daughter to stop right where she was standen....Me and the bus driver flipped the driver off at the same time.<br /><br />You know the bus driver told me later on that the person driveing the truck was this worthless ladie thats always drunk and she was raceing home to beat the bus to her house.<br /><br />In Sumpter Co. FL. the bus driver won't drop kids under the age of seven off at there bus stop uinless there is a parent or gaurdian (aproved gaurdian) there to meet them....they take um back to the school and a very unhappy princible calls your home.<br /><br />BTW....the drunk ladie lost her kids to the state not to long after that and the busdriver and the drunk darn near got into a fist fight that very afternoon.<br /><br />I'da killed her If I had known then what I know now. <br /><br />Derwood.

First thing I thought about when I saw this thread was "What about funerals?" Glad to see that folks in other parts of the country still pull over. Mostly in the South or Midwest though I bet. Around here, when a friend of the family dies, the first thing you do is start cooking. I believe the thinking is that the bereaved family has too much on their mind to worry about cooking and they are going to have a lot of company. Many people just call the local BBQ and have a shoulder delivered to the funeral home.

i escorte a lot of funerals and there are a lot of peopel out there that won't try to take the time to do what is rite but of course that is when the radio comes in handy. derwood here in tenn the school bus driver can take a warrent on a person that brakes the law concerning the buses and the judge here really frowns on the law breaker seen hime give as much as 35 hrs comunity service which most of the time they work at the trash collection center and if they don't show up the get 24hrs in jail for every 1 hour they missed in the community service
