Due to the climate of political correctness now<br />pervading America...<br />Kentuckians, Tennesseans<br />and West Virginians will no longer be referred to<br />as "HILLBILLIES."<br /> <br />You must now refer to them as<br />APPALACHIAN-AMERICANS.<br /><br />I'm originally from the Mountains in Virginia so I guess this applies to me.

I guess lyrics could remain the same. You're right RPJS, that just plain don't work for that song. :D :D

I vaguely remember a song that had the line, "Hillbillys are Mountain Williams now."<br /><br />That was a looong time ago. :)

So to be "PC", I was once a Hillbilly Rigger and now I'm an Appalachain Engineer? <br /><br />You know that us hillbilly's have a hard time walking on flat land. It is somethin about one leg being a big shorter than the other. It works fine in the hills though?

Why do drivers' education classes in Redneck schools use the car only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays?<br />.<br />.<br />.<br />.<br />.<br />.<br />.<br />Because on Tuesday and Thursday, the Sex Ed class uses it! :p

Hey, I grew up in kentucky. Havnt been back since '81'. Definately going back this year (Spring Break) Going to stop at the Gap and the falls and camp w/ my boys. I almost went over the falls as a 6-7 year old. the water and current was waist deep when I got carried away, the smooth mossy bed rock prevented me from getting up or gaining a foot hold....A big fat laddie in a lawn chair :) grabbed me as I was going by.....

OJ I visted the Falls a year ago. They're nothing like they were when I was growing up. Mother Nature has really done a number on them.<br />Don't get me wrong, it's still a sight.

Glad she grabbed you OJ, 1 or 2 go over every year, some never found. Have you heard of the "moonbow"? Only certain months during a full moon I read somwhere. Does anyone know if it's 2nd largest falls in eastern U.S., behind niagra?

Its funny, I just convinced my mother a year ago that it actually happened. She said "you never left my sight" ,....I informed her that grand ma was supposed to be keeping an eye on me that specific visit...I cant believe that people (maybe just back then) would sit in lawn chairs near the drop, or would walk out there in the first place. But I'm glad they did that day... :) yes I heard about the moon bow Go to the natoinal park website and it will answer most questions..
