Do 1 piece lower ends fit older motors that came with the 2 piece

Will the 1 piece lower ends fit the outboards that came with the 2 piece lower ends? I have a 1974 135hp Chrysler outboard. I would like to buy a parts motor. I have heard the 1 piece lower end is much better.
