DIY bow filler and "stern" filler ?

I've a '95 open bow 232 Rinker. I would like to be able to sleep on the boat with the kids. I can install a small ledge on either side of the bow walkway and place a board in the gap with cushions. I would like to use the plastic marine board but it is remarkably expensive. I can use plywood, but I would like to have it look right. Paint isn't going to do it. Do I need to put Resin on it and paint it or ?.

The rear is similar, but a much larger gap between the U shaped seats. I'm going to use my table pedestal as a center support with a new shorter post. Boards and pads will be separate for ease of stowing. Any additional suggestions?

Coat the plywood with 2 coats of epoxy prior to painting it and it will look awesome.

This is not my boat, but is exactly like it. I will do something nearly identical. My pads may be separate from the boards for ease of DIY.

Are we talking epoxy paint, as in garage floors? Or Epoxy resin as in West System fiberglass resin and hardener?

Resin (then paint it). West, Clark Craft, U.S. Composites, etc etc. Two coats (for waterproofing) on my deck boards and they looked like bar tops.
