pony were running the fiber right from the headend to the house. there are several of these up and running. and i'm not sure but i don't think the speed is that much better but it's far more reliable

Ive got DSL and Satellight and it grate.Thay always work and i get to choose what chanels i want to watch un like cable.

What?? My parents just upgraded to fiber optic as it just recently became available in their area (Syracuse, NY). Download speed measured via http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/ was 12Mbps. Yes, twelve. It is truly unbelievable...

You must be in a hot spot. Around here, true DSL speed is 1.0 - 1.5 Mbps and cable is about the same. Satellite is a little less. If everybody could get that kind of performance from cable: wow! Or do you have a secret?
