Distributer Sensor Going bad?

What are the simptoms of the distributer sensor going bad?
Part# 87-892150Q02

I opened my Distributer up last night to change the cap and rotor, and there was alot of corrosion on the sensor.

Im facing lack of rpm (3000 limit) and rough idle.
1990 502 Mag, TB IV Ignition.

Just replaced my cap rotor and sensor. Mine started then one day did not start.
Used all quicksilver parts. Starts now like it is brand new. Rotor was a real pain to get off on mine. rusted on

My rotor was also rusted on. I confirmed it was press on and wasnt missing seeing a screw someplace, then leveraged it off with a screwdriver.

Mine starts fine, just idles rough, and wont get over 3k rpm under load.
