distributer modification worth it?

Ok guys I boght one of theese bad boys to replace the old worn oem points distributers from the 70's http://performancedistributors.com/product/marine-dui-distributors/ The problem is this new DUI unite is huge, I aleady got lift the doghouse a little to acomadate for the new 4brrl carb . With the new distributer I will have to go evan higher and cut out some of the cap - getting further into modifications, to get me engine back in, Qill all the extra work be worth it just to use this DUI unit!>?

Ayuh,.... Sounds like ya oughta be adjustin' the motor box, rather than the distributor, 'n carb,.....

I would run a mallory or a Delco Voyager before I ran a DUI ignition.

however since you have to mod your dog house anyway. its up to you what you do.

Whats the down side of modifying that doghouse? Seems shitty that you have to do all that work to accommodate their distributor. But, if you're changing dimensions for the carb anyway , it seems like additional changes for the distributor wouldn't be that much more. Got pic's?
