I haven't forgot the plug to this day, but that doesn't mean I won't. I have a spare plug in the glove compartment of my boat that's always there. If for some reason I do forget it I won't have to remember where the other one is, I'll just grab the extra one.

I was keeping the plug out because of rain water, however now I picked up a good quality boat cover that is water proof so probably don't have to worry too much anymore about rain water. My boat does really take on any water when out on the lake, so I'll probably just be leavin the plug in from now on.

Rest assured, I do get everything ready before backing into the ramp, just forgot the plug as part of my routine that time.

I did notice my prop has a couple little dings in it, the edge can't be deviated by much more than a millimeter.

How much is too much

I would still leave the plug out when on the trailer. When that cover fails, or water seeps through, it's going to collect in the bilge. No point in leaving the plug in and creating a potential nightmare when you pull the cover off the next time. Just make it a point to check the plug before launching each time.
