Repowering from a 305 to 350 and I need your help confirming that the dipstick is actually shorter than the tube (approx 4" or so). It makes sense that it would be shorter or else it would probably hit the pan and bend along the bottom. You get a reading from the oil that has leveled out inside the tube vs. directly from what's in the pan right? Just looked a little weird at first.

Thanks!

Correct. Dipstick tube goes all the way to the bottom so it can be used to suck out the oil for a change, rather than dropping it into the bilge (messy!).
