Unable to find carburetor for 1986 50 hp eltj. The 60 hp carburetor looks exactly the same. If difference is jets, I can get jets.
Any ideas?
Thank you,
Mark

Thank you.thinking 40 and 50 were basically the same on older Yamahas, newer ones the 50 and 60
look at the part breakdowns to see what all is different
I looked up 60hp and it seems they start at 1991.I didn't see a 60 by the way, 70 was the next one up.
only other way into the motor is thru the fuel pump, so check that 1stFirst, thank you for all the info.
The carbs on amazon for the 60 hp are the same including the jet. Strange someone isn’t selling them for 50 hp or maybe there is something I am missing. Only problem to order them is it takes 40 to 60 days to get them.
It seems at this point I have all 3 carbs holding pressure after polishing the valve seat and needle. Each needle had a nick in the raised area that the needle slides on. I suspect the needles were sticking open and/or the seats were to dirty to seal.
New problem. Fuel is now leaking from the bottom of the foot. With engine slanted so any leaking fuel has to come out front of carbs, there are no leaks from carbs. Is a new thread the right path for the new problem?
Not too happy with it. Is there a choice if they aren’t available anywhere else? With the lead time they are probably made to order in China. The basic carb for all three positions are the same. Just change up the connections between the carbs. Not sure I would buy carbs off of Amazon
Repeat after me..... chineseum carburetors do not work. Not too happy with it. Is there a choice if they aren’t available anywhere else? With the lead time they are probably made to order in China. The basic carb for all three positions are the same. Just change up the connections between the carbs.
