I got to the ramp and noticed a fuel system leak. Luckily I had not launched yet. I took it home and tore things apart. By the way this is a 2018 robalo R207. Powered with a 2017 Yamaha F-150XB. This boat was ordered by me and put together at the Rabalo factory in Georgia. I found the leak at the rubber grommet where the wires and hoses enter the motor cowling. The grommet was a little sun damaged so I figured I would replace that too. I saw the hose had a break in it where there was a coupler. I ordered the hose and grommet and tried to replace them both this evening. But when I tried to install the grommet I noticed that it does not fit correctly in the grommet. So I looked up the diagrams and they did not look like what was originally installed on the boat. I have attached pictures of what was installed on the boat at the factory. I also attached pictures of what is supposed to be there. It is WAY different. What the heck happened? So I ordered parts one, two and three from the diagram. However, the diagram ends there and I can’t find the continuation so I don’t know if I’m missing parts. Particularly the clamp on the other side of the fuel line(towards the fuel tank side). I also don’t know exactly what “Part 1” is. It is listed as a damper but if you look at the third picture I attached it doesn’t even look like fuel could go through it. If anyone has experience with this can you please answer these questions.

Do I need a certain clamp on the other side of the coupler? I mean the fuel tank/primer bulb side. What part number is that clamp?

What is the damper and does fuel go through it? Is it necessary? I have not had one in 5 years.

Why the heck did the Robalo factory put it together this way? Did they do it wrong?

The only problem I see is that they used hose clamps instead of the loop type clamps in the diagram. Personally, I would use Oetiker clamps

Guessing the “damper” (plug) is only used to keep fluids from leaking during shipment

The damper is just a plug that comes from the factory. To keep dirt and dust out of the fuel line and coupler.

The factory or the dealer used worm clamps. The parts book and the service manual show the use of a Yamaha specific band clamp.

The factory or the dealer used used an aftermarket hose barb. Yamaha uses a Yamaha specific coupler.
