I got tired of being in the water all day and drinking hot pop so I built in an acrylic tank so I can have a cold drink. It is approx 12 x15x12 I sealed and glued it to gether with crazy glue and siliconed the joints. the question I have is fristly do you think crazy glue and silicone will hold the joints full with Ice. and should I reenforce the acrylic with plywood and foam as it sits in my boat. I ll try and post a pic later but thoughts. The acrylic is 1/4 inch thick

Hey Miloman, why don't you just buy a small insulated cooler, you could even get a small 12v cooler. Then you wouldn't have to cut and glue etc etc. Just set it on the floor somewhere.

Ya, I'm with Boomyal...........<br />Your plastic box, might make a Better Radio box, than a Cooler..........<br />Uninsulated, a Bag of Ice Might last an Hour or Two.........<br /><br />If you don't want to Spring the $$$$ for a Cooler....<br />Just Keep Inviting Friends to go Boating......<br />Till 1 of them "Forgets" Their Cooler...........

the cooler is a good way to go for sure. The issue is that I have an area of my back casting deck that I want to use as the cooler area. The plan will be to insulate it with 1/2 inch styrofoam.

If you do go the acrylic route I would use a glue that is made for acrylics. I don't think crazy glue will hold as well. The acrylic glues will also make it water tight if you run a bead in the corners.
