Diagnostic plugin

I purchased used 2006 75hp optimax on a tracker pc175, merc maint/parts manuals and rinda diagnostic kit. Unable to locate the plug (engine side) that accepts the rinda two pin plug. Sent pics to rinda of available plugs and ECM but the advice they sent back looks like a 115 engine with different plugs. Any suggestions for figuring out where the plug/ddt port is?

If your engine truly is an 2006 and not an 2005 then i believe yours will utilize a flat 4 pin plug while the 05 uses a 2 pin plug like noted in the following link used only as a guide for your situation, http://candoopro.com/quick_start_guides/mercury_marine_quickstart.pdf

Tks for advice. I did find the serial/data decal for engine showing 2006 but the ECM has a date of 10-20-2005. I have found a (3) pin flat connector with wires that trace directly to the lower ECM socket in the correct vicinity of rinda directions and on opposite side have two more plugs and one of them is a (4) conductor flat plug. I will check those links and keep working with rinda until I can the correct plug. Thanks again.

Let us know what you come up with and/or post a photo of all the connectors and post your engine serial number as it might help too with further checking/helping...Good luck.

Howdy,
Will get a pic of my other plug that I feel may be the data port when we get back and do the post “flight” flush out. Being that it still runs great and I just put a new belt and new set of plugs (no way to know age of previous units) my wife says lets go to the Arkansas river for a bit so I will be able to get better pics by tomorrow. S/N 1B318231. Thanks again. If anybody needs pics of pages of parts/maint manual for the dfi 75/90/115 I have the latest set as of last month and can maybe help someone in that capacity.

Good afternoon,
These are the two remaining plugs so hopefully I can get order placed tomorrow for the correct rinda unit.
River was low and got it in the sand a few times so I maybe can order a fresh waterpump impeller and gain some ground on finishing out the 300/3yr items on the maint list. Precautionary check on hearbox oil showed to be as clean and free of water as when I put it in a few months ago so maybe seals will hold for a while. Gotta say that considering the condition I found this engine in that it must be a good one to run as well as it has…. may pop the next time I start it but so could anything else.

Rinda makes it happen. Finally got to read the ecm and have 99.3hrs on engine. 108psi fuel on new gauge and 96 psi air. Ran about 1.5hrs today flawless.

Old Optimax is still running. I have updated to a 2006 SeaRay 220 Select (has lots of issues). Will be gifting the Opti/Tracker boat to daughter and grandson.
