Been probly 10 years since I used the orded one ,cant say the Makita 18v is gruntier than the corded but it has drilled every hole I wanted. I have been mindful not to overload it but then I have only ever used 3ah batteries . Tbh if I had used the 9ah ( just got them for the saw and grinder ) on the drill I may have fried it as it has no over current protection ,the grinder and saw do .
I like the battery drills etc because I don't like extention cords snaking over the w/shop floor while Im throwing hunks of steel around ....and the fowl the wheels on my chair .
I have a huge old Black and Decker drill ,all ally case ,last used to power the post hole auger. Now thats a feckin beast ,many a sprained wrist .....and beats me where I got it ......
