That’s an excellent shout. Didn’t look close enough. Yeah. Looks like it’s aftermarket fitting has resulted in the usual buttons being hidden and likely affected by the dash. The buttons are usually at the bottom of the round shaped gauge. Nice oneMy guess, based off a couple of these I've had, is that the gauge is pressed right up against the dash which is depressing a button, or two. Pull the depth finder....are there buttons on it?
Is the depth "changing" or is it "flashing"?Hi All I've purchased a 1993 falcon 2000Br.could anyone help me.with the depth finder.it keeps on popping up different numbers
Look again at the gauge itself - it doesn't look like its installed properly. There's usually buttons to increase/decrease the depth alarm on these and they aren't present because....they're burried behind the dash.Is the depth "changing" or is it "flashing"?
If flashing, you have a bad transducer.
If the depth is not correct, flickering plus or minus a foot or two, its to expected with the transducer out of the water.
If display goes blank, or flashing while under way, you have an aeration issue
Maybe..........but an alarm setting shouldn't affect the depth reading.Look again at the gauge itself - it doesn't look like its installed properly. There's usually buttons to increase/decrease the depth alarm on these and they aren't present because....they're burried behind the dash.
It may be randomly depressing the buttons and modes perhaps. Just with the installation there. But yeah. I mentioned the transducer fitting too…and that it won’t work on the trailerMaybe..........but an alarm setting shouldn't affect the depth reading.
That unit was discontinued in 2005 and the unit came with known POS transducer to begin with.
My money is on a bad transducer
Mine does.......just not accurateBut yeah. I mentioned the transducer fitting too…and that it won’t work on the trailer
Not surprised, haha. It can’t sound through air. As you’ll know anyway.Mine does.......just not accurate
