That's what I like to hear gonefishie. <br />I see you're from Indiana....maybe that one fish you saved is one I'll catch here in a few hours <br /><br /><br />BF. I've had problems keeping fish on with a barbless hook. I see (in your other post) you mention to keep the line tight & it won't happen. <br />Also when I went barbless, I just smashed the barb down like EBB mentioned. When I fish for gills I use a long shank hook so if they do start to swallow it I may still have something to hold on to.<br />(and a PS. The hook does NOT need to be barbless to use the through-the-gill technique. I see it as an easy way to get the hook to turn itself out)<br /><br />I'm just glad to share what I found to be useful & glad other people are trying it.
