Hi!
I have 3 questions related to the same issue.
The boat is a 1985 Chris Craft Scorpion 168 open-bow.
The nuts on the bow deck cleat have stripped. Now the questions:
1. Does anyone know if there is an access hole behind the forward backrest cushion on this model boat that will permit me to get to the underside of the bow?
2. How are those cushions normally mounted? Are there plastic retainers like they use on car door panels? I don't just want to start pulling on it, unless that's how it works..
3. Assuming there is no access to the underside, what is the best way to secure this cleat (it's used almost every time I dock, anchor, etc).
The boat is trailered, so it only gets tied up when in use or at the marina for lunch.
I'm thinking on filling the existing holes with epoxy, redrilling for lag screws and hope they hold.
Anyone know of any better method?
Thanks!
Roger
