I think I'm going to be sick.:(

Do you realize you could probably have gotten twice what you paid for the boat for just the windshield assembly that you left on it.

Re: Death To A Bayliner

The framing on the windshield was bent all to hell. I had to kick the center window shut. I dont have enough room to store everything. I have a perfect running 3.0 engine, outdrive, gimbal housing, trim pump, gauges, throttle controls, cables, wires. She was stripped. I even cut off all the cleats. Not to mention a nice galvanized escort trailer. The windshield wasnt worth messing with. A dime a dozen around here...

Fairly unceremonious . . . what'd that cost?

Depending on the viewer, sound at 2:17 might be best turned down  :D Considering the upcoming hull sliding method, I'm not sure it is the little whatchamacallit thing that's gonna get [messed] up ;)

Yeah I know. I cant edit the video because it was shot using my phone.

It doesn't cost anything for the landfill to take the boat. You just have to show them that all the fluids are drained...

Yeah, you're right about not being able to keep everything, but I know those curved sections of the windshield would have gone over big on BOC...

Nice. I'm trashing an old 83 sylvan boat hull this weekend and its $30.00 for the dump to take it off the trailer and crush it.

Nope.

It wasn't that great. I took pics that I will post later of the soaked transom, stringers and motor mounts...

The boat could have never been titled again...

Nice vid, but have to agree, the windshield and mounts were worth at least double what you paid!

I had a old 86 capri 19 footer given to me a couple years back, missing one windshield side piece.

Decided to part it out as it was rotten and the motor seized.
I got 900 for the motor outdrive as it was, and 600 for the windshield alone missing a piece!

Even sold the swim platform for 80 bucks to a guy in alaska. Bayliners are great for parting out as after a few years they change the design and no longer make replacement parts, so when you have good ones, ebay is your friend...

would of been cool if they showed it being cut up or even better thrown down a hill..I think everyone that has mentioned to save stuff might be hoarders ! haha..

These were taken just before I cut out the steering cable and the throttle control and cables...

I drilled a bunch of holes in it just to see how wet the core was. The shaving that came out poured water out when squeezed. She was pretty rotten...

Wow, that glass was worth a small fortune! Who cares if the frame is bent, the glass is the expensive part! Easy $800 per panel for curved tempered glass. $400 easy for flat panel tempered. Oh well, whats done is done and can't be undone. Hope the motor serves you well, a good way to get a good motor and outdrive!

Future reference for anyone else hauling a boat to the dump:

SAVE THE GLASS!!!! ITS VERY EXPENSIVE AND VERY RESALABLE.

There are folks who have restored such basket cases, but why is beyond me.

What I mainly found sickening was a boat left to rot like that.

And why they would want to restore a Bayliner is beyond me too.
