Not that I've heard of yet. Though, I don't watch local broadcast news too much. They named a couple of storms last year - we had Jim Cantore in for one of 'em, but it did't deliver enough goods to make the weather channel

Spoke too soon when I said, "no." Just heard it in the car tonight.

Y'know - actually it's Cantore who's in trouble. That dude's whole job is to go stand in front of stuff that kills people so he can explain to us how dangerous it is. His life insurance policy has got to be EXPENSIVE.

Just think, it's still only Nov. where the kids are the temps have hit -30C already. And they don't get real cold until there cold snap they get around New Year's. The coldest I ever saw up there was -60C plus the wind chill. NO WAY to keep warm at that temp. Coldest I ever worked in was a breakdown at -52C. Glad to have moved to a warmer climate. It hit +15C today, but there was some wind.

There are some strange names around here. A few minutes up the road is Cupid's. We also have Chapel Cove, Chapel Arm, Heart's Delight, Heart's Content. We also have Dildo and just down the road from there is Spread Eagle.

No I am not kidding about these names.

lol.....so much comedy could be made from NFLD place names......Cupids, followed by Hearts Delight, then Spread Eagle, then Chapel Cove, followed by Conception Bay. Then it moves on to Dildo! Is there a place called Divorce Bay? lol

OK I drove 100 miles more souther hoping to gain a couple degrees and it is currently 15 in Georgia. I thought those 'mountains' were supposed to block The Cold.

Whe I first met the Admiral and found out she was from Newfoundland, I asked her what they did here. She told me that they fish and F$&@. And in winter they don't fish. lol
