Good.

If he is guilty, he needs to be punished.

If he is not guilty maybe it will shut up a few leftists who blame it on all conservatives.

I like the spin....The judge dropped the other charge.

A little C&P from the A/P. Gee---
"The judge dismissed the conspiracy charges Monday against Rep. Tom DeLay but refused to throw out the money-laundering counts, dashing the Texas congressman’s hopes for now of reclaiming his post as House majority leader".

Judge Pat Priest, who is presiding over the case against the Republican, issued the ruling after a hearing late last month in which DeLay’s attorney argued that the indictment was fatally flawed."

I like the way this post, and the very articlle it was CROPPED from, has it's very TITLE reading, "DeLay money-laundering charges upheld".
The spin-machine is a two-way street.
All i needed to read was the title to know the intent of the post! :D Too predictable!

Of course, there is no such thing as "mainstream media bias", is there?

Yes. Yes i would. And my point is just that. What is the title? What does the news article i linked to (with the exact wording btw), hold-up as the meat of the story?
It is a blatent example of sometihng existng that to the left, does not exist.

That's why my header says what it says.....I copied it directly from the story title....Thanks for providing the link, btw...The story meant to me that he doesn't get his job back, -YET....Other than the little blurb about gerrymandering , I didn't see much else of note.....I think that sticking charges are more newsworthy than dropped ones, and should be noted first.....Did I miss something? ....JK

No, you didn't miss anything at all, Medoc, unless you missed the blatent bias in the report.
You don't have to look hard for it, or read anything into it either.
And don't take my rant personally, as it's not directed at you, but the bias of the report. Many people deny the very existance of "mainstream Media" or "media bias" in the first place. And that is all i am refering to. As for DeLay, i am still going to hold my judgement until the trial is over..If there is one.

To me, this is one of many victories i look forawrd to, for a majority leader ripped from the post by mere charges -- not by his guilt , but just the presumption thereof. It knida draws vacuum. But the tactic should be memorized by the right, and used at every opertunity if the left ever regains a majority and has a leader we do not like.
Maybe then, these folks with their heads in the sand will suddenly "see the light", albeit, too late for them.

I CANNOT flippin' believe this. The LA Times got it right:

Count is Dropped, but Delay Still Faces Trial

BTW, I mentioned on another thread that I have read the LA Times every day since I was 10. I continually see bias in their writing. Front page today despite the above:

Rice Warns Europe on Questioning US Tactics

The only quote in the article that could be construed as a "warning" was, "we share intelligence that has helped protect European countries from attack, helping save European lives." I can find literally nothing else in the article that supports that headline except if you can somehow twist "a matter of classification . . . I wouldn't comment" as a warning

On page 9 where the article continues:

Rice Visits a Wary Europe

Better, but of course buried on page 9 and I could still argue that that is biased and opinion, not news . . .
