Day on the water...

My Dad and little brother were up over the weekend and we all decided to spend Saturday out on the water. We actually spent Friday on the water as well and they loved it so much we went out Saturday. It actually ended up being a much nicer day on Saturday.

Since I had 4 people I decided to take our dog, Norman, with us for his first boating trip. I wasn't sure how he would react - but thought it was worth the try!

This was taken right after I pulled out of the ramp - seems to be doing ok so far!

He seemed to like travelling here the most. I think he felt like he was in my Jeep with his head out the window -- he liked the strong breeze that went through the middle of the boat... and liked all the scents that were associated with the breeze.

After a little while, we decided he needed a little safe-keeping. So, we test fitted him with his own PFD.

This was kind of neat, we were slowly idling across the lake when this seaplane flew right over us and landed about 300 yards ahead of us.

Lastly, my new desktop photo... there ain't much purtier than your pride 'n' joy sitting idle in the water, is there? Now if only that yokel didn't pull in behind my boat when I took the photo - but hey, can't win em all right?

Good idea to take the dog with you. That way he can't spray diarrhea all over the house while you are gone :(

Bob

I'm sure the guy would have moved his boat if you just asked him nicely, there was no need to decapitate his mate and nail his head to the top of that post.

:D :D

Hey EE, Just a word of warning.....My dad got a really nice ticket for riding the way you are in picture #1........on Pewaukee Lake nonetheless.

Looks like you had a great day. I still have yet to get the boat wet. I have been working too much and when I do have spare time it rains LOL

Our hound loves to go for a boat ride. Maybe it's just he hates to be away from us.

Either way, tell me he ain't smiling:

Re: Day on the water...

Thanks for the heads up on the seating position... thats the last thing I need is a ticket for sitting down...

I was out on Pewaukee Lake -- turns out to be a pretty nice Lake to spend the day on - lots of big houses on the shoreline to oogle at.

QC - - thanks for the comments re: boat in the water. I have been doing a lot of looking, and I really like my 'style' of Bayliner better than the '06 model of my boat - it just has more personality.

Norm isn't going to be going camping with us... he's a bit more high maintenence than your 'pup' is (only assuming..) :D :p Being a St. Bernard he doesn't get along too well with hot/humid weather - he's designed for the Alps not Wisconsin humidity; so we're going to be putting him in Doggy Daycare... He'll actually have a much better time there anyway playing with the dogs all weekend.

Yup....picky ticket for sure. He was not happy at all.......even argued the fact that he was doing it to see over a fogged up windsheild. They crack down on lots of stuff in the Lakes in your area Sean. Those lakes get super packed on weekends during the summer......even some weekdays. So as a result they have goten more strict.
