dashboard replacement 1990 bayliner 2050

I have a 1990 bayliner 2050 with 3.0 i/o mercruiser. The dashboards on both sides are worn also not too badly. But the gauges are very hard to find to replace, speedometer and tachometer are oversized and require 4 1/4 in cutout holes. Im still looking for speedometer replacement but almost give up. Instead i found a lot of dead newer bayliners with much nicer dashboards and wanted to ask before buying one of them and replacing a whole dashboard, how feasible is it? If it involves just unscrewing the old one and hooking the new gauges to the old sensors and screwing in a newer dashboard l will do it. However if the dashboards require some significant fitting ill better keep looking for a speedometer replacement. Always appreciate your knowledgeable advice.
